Constitution of a Venezuelan Association of solidarity with the Saharawi people
Caracas, 01/09/2006 (SPS) A Venezuelan Association of solidarity with the Saharawi people was crated last Tuesday in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, according to a press release publicised by the Saharawi Embassy in Venezuela, of which SPS received a copy.
This event took place in Caracas at the seat of the Venezuelan parliament, initiated by dozens students, university professors, parliamentarians and representatives of the Venezuelan civil society as well as members of the different political parties, the same source added.
The ceremony of the constitution took place with the presence of the Deputy President of the Venezuelan Latino American Parliament, Norexa Pinto, and the President of the Parliamentarian Commission, Gustavo Hernلndez, as well as he President of the Saharawi Red Crescent, Bouhoubeini Yahya, and the Saharawi Ambassador to Venezuela, El Haj Ahmed.
In addition to the constitution there was a projection of a documentary film on the Saharawi people's struggle and a press conference on the last developments of the human rights situation in the occupied territories of the Western Sahara as well as the hard situation f the Saharawi refugee camps.
